Autumn Term 2014
Students have been making some excellent progress in art and are in the process of creating some superb work.
Year 7 Students have been studying the effect of light in landscapes and have been creating small studies of work by impressionist painters, learning how to use acrylic paint to good effect in the process. After Christmas they will be creating their own paintings using the skills they have learned.
Year 6 are learning how to 'see' and have been drawing from observation. This is a very difficult skill to learn and they have produced some very good pieces of work, despite working in some challenging media such as charcoal and soft pastels.
Year 8 are exploring the theme of image and identity and are using a wider range of techniques to explore their ideas, more to come from them next term.
Year 5 are looking at colour pattern and texture and have just started looking at the work of Hundertwasser as inspiration for their next piece of work. More to come from them next term.
Here are just some examples of their excellent work...
