Through mathematics children can be helped to make sense of the world in which they live, resolve real and everyday problems and acquire a mastery of skills. The course followed is a combination of traditional and modern mathematics.
Children are given the opportunity to use calculators and computers as appropriate, in order to support and encourage the establishment of firm foundations of mathematical knowledge and understanding.
Pupils are encouraged to enter national competitions, and as a result we have achieved numerous gold, silver and bronze awards. Some Year 8 pupils participate in master-classes held at both of our High Schools.
Year 7 master-classes began in 2015.
Every child has at least one uninterrupted hour of numeric studies each day.
