Dear year 4 student,

I am writing to tell you how great Marden Bridge is.

I remember my first day in middle school; I was put in a class with a lot of people I didn't know but luckily some of my friends from my first school are in my class too. Now I have lots of new friends too.

The first thing I asked myself was what the teachers are like and they are all amazing.

Enjoy marden.

Dear Pupil in Year 4,

I am a pupil in year 5 in Marden Bridge Middle School. I am writing this letter to tell you about my experience of starting a new school. I hope this helps you to feel less worried.

I was excited about starting my new school. A lot of my friends were coming too. Some of my friends were going to other schools, which made me a little sad, but I knew I would still see them out of school.

On the first day of school, I was a bit nervous but when I reached the gates I was welcomed straight away by all the nice teachers. I was taken to my new classroom with my new classmates so we did not get lost. For around 2 weeks we were helped by a buddy system which was brilliant. The older pupils would take you to your lessons, show you where things were and help out at break times if you needed. This helped so much to settle in and find my way round.

Some advice I could give you to help when you come to Marden Bridge Middle School is that although it can feel a little scary, please try not to worry too much. All the teachers and pupils are nice and they are always willing to help. I thought I would never find my way around a bigger school but it took no time at all. I have made so many new friends. I enjoyed my first school but I enjoy Marden more.

Welcome to Marden Bridge!

Best Wishes,

A pupil in year 5CC (ex. Appletree)

Dear pupils in year 4 (soon to be year 5),

I am a pupil in year 5 at Marden Bridge Middle School and I came from Apple Tree Gardens First School.

When I was in the position that you are in, I was a little bit nervous to start a new school. I was worried in case I wouldn't see any of my other friends from first school, but also excited to meet new people at the same time.

In the first few weeks we had some nice class buddies to help us get to know the school (as it feels a lot bigger) and where our different classes were. When it was raining during break or lunch, we couldn't go outside, they would take us to our main class. There are also different subjects which we didn't have in first school like DT, Life Studies and Geography.

Now I have been at MBMS for almost a year. I know where all my lessons are and when they are and I know if I need help I can ask a teacher, go to the office or ask a friend.

We are looking forward to seeing you,

From a pupil in 5CC (e. Appletree)

Dear Pupil in year 4,

I am a year 5 pupil at Marden Bridge Middle School and I would like you to know how it feels and what it is like moving into a new school.

The main thing that was worrying me when i was going to move to middle school was the lessons being too hard for me to be able to do.

On my first day my teachers were very nice to me and my class and the other classes. I was a little bit nervous though and a bit quiet and shy but on the first day everyone was kind and friendly and I made lots of new friends. When it was break there was lots of equipment out on the yard to play with and have fun as well as the lessons. The lessons were very fun to do and the day went sooo quick because I was having so much fun.

Some advice for a pupil coming by themselves have fun and don’t be worried you will make lots of friends

Best wishes

Pupil in 5AGr (ex.Appletree)

Dear Pupil in Year 4,

I am a year 5 pupil in Marden Bridge Middle School and I wanted to write this letter to tell you what moving up to middle school was like for me.

I came to middle school with some friends because they also wanted to come to Marden. The main things that were worrying me were I thought making new friends would be hard and I thought I would get lost trying to get to class, but I know almost everyone in the class now, the teacher is really nice and the school is really easy to navigate.

At lunch there was equipment to play with and I played a few games with friends.

It took a little while but I joined some really fun clubs that I go to every week.

Now I have friends from loads of different schools but I still talk and go out with my first school friends.

Advice for anyone coming to middle school is that it may be scary moving up but it is fun and if you just relax and live the moment you will fit right in and everyone will be really nice.

Welcome to Marden Bridge,

Pupil in year 5, 5CF (ex. Appletree)
